If he is not investing hours researching, reading and teaching Shaykh Omar loves to spend time with his wife and two adorable kids, May and Abdullah. A football fan at heart and having the height advantage in basketball, Shaykh Omar loves to stay in shape and have fun playing sports.

As a speaker, Shaykh Omar is able to pack tons of information into an easy to digest format for the Muslim and non-Muslim audience. He is known for being straight to the point and speaking from the depth of his heart. A hafiz of the Qur'an, Shaykh Omar's formal training started in 2000 in the United Arab Emirates where he spent a few years at the feet of prestigious scholars such as Shaykh Tariq Ibn Rajah and Amr Al Sheshany. Since then he been under the tutelage of Shaykh Salah As Sawy, Dr Hatem Al Haj, his father in law Shaykh Abul Abed, and Al Allamah Shaykh Omar Al Ashqar (rahimahullah).
